In-Person Expectant Parent Tours

Riverside is proud to offer in-person Expectant Parent Tours one Tuesday evening and one Saturday morning each month. During the tour, parents-to-be can preview the birthing suites and postpartum rooms in our Women and Infant Care Unit at Riverside Regional Medical Center. On the tour, you will have the opportunity to have your questions answered regarding having your baby at Riverside.

Attendance is limited to the expectant mother and 1 additional person, therefore ONLY the expectant mother needs to register for this tour. Registration will close once we have reached capacity.

Registration is required. Click the yellow "Register Now" button to the right to register for the tour. Please be sure to provide your email address. As the tour appointment approaches, you will receive an email with instructions for the tour.

In-person tours are given on one Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and on one Saturday morning at 11:30 a.m. each month.

Dementia Series: GEM States of Dementia

Join us for a Free workshop series for those caring for persons living with dementia.

This workshop will focus on the GEM states of dementia. The GEMS Brain Change Model, developed by Teepa Snow and based on the Allen Cognitive Scale, recognizes six different brain states. Learn about each of them to recognize the shifts in our skills and abilities in any given moment.

Health Equity Panel: Heart Safe, Stroke Smart (Eastern Shore)

Join us for our 2025 Health Equity Panel: Heart Safe, Stroke Smart on Thursday, April 3, 2025!

We will talk about the risk factors of cardiovascular disease and the steps you can take to reduce your personal risk of stroke and heart attack.

Health factors including blood pressure, cholesterol levels, blood sugar, smoking
How genetics and family health history affect your risk
Recognizing symptoms to better advocate for yourself and your loved ones
Promoting community education and engagement
Cooking demonstration

We will begin at 4:30 p.m. with light fare.

At 5 p.m. we will have an interactive hour that includes a resource fair, blood pressure checks, door prizes & giveaways. An expert panel discussion will begin at 6:00 p.m.
