Join us for our 2025 Health Equity Panel: Heart Safe, Stroke Smart on Thursday, April 3, 2025! We are working together with our community partners to bring you this event!

We will talk about the risk factors of cardiovascular disease and the steps you can take to reduce your personal risk of stroke and heart attack.

  • Wellness, nutrition, exercise, stress management
  • Health factors including blood pressure, cholesterol levels, blood sugar, smoking
  • How genetics and family health history affect your risk
  • Recognizing symptoms to better advocate for yourself and your loved ones

In-Person, Postpartum Health & Baby Care: Your Guide to the 4th Trimester

This is the class you didn't know you needed!

The Fourth Trimester, also known as the postpartum period, is a time of intense change in your baby, your body and your lifestyle.  Learn more about the adjustments you and your little one will experience in the weeks after delivery.

In this class, your instructor will share examples of how to care for yourself and your baby, along with reassurance that the changes and ups and downs experienced in the 4th trimester are normal and to be expected.

Registration is required. Please register by clicking the yellow REGISTER NOW button to the right and provide the requested information, including your email address.

Attendance is limited to the expectant mother and 1 additional person, therefore ONLY the expectant mother needs to register for this class. Registration will close once we have reached capacity. As the class date approaches, you will receive an email from the instructor with additional information about the class. 
 
Your instructor will meet you in the Tower Lobby to take you to the classroom.
 
This In-person class, Guide to the 4th Trimester, is offered on one scheduled Thursday evening each month from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m.

One in eight men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime. African American men are at higher risk for developing prostate cancer. Screenings help find cancer early, when you have no signs or symptoms

What age should I start screening?
Average Risk
• Men age 50 to 70 currently in excellent health
 
High Risk
• African American men aged 45 to 70
• Men age 45 to 70 with a first-degree relative (father, brother or son) who had prostate cancer prior to age 65
 
Higher Risk
• Men age 40 to 70 with more than one first-degree relative (father, brother or son) who had prostate cancer prior to age 65

In-Person Understanding Pregnancy Class

This class is meant to help mothers-to-be understand what to expect during pregnancy.  You will learn what is happening with your body and with your baby through each trimester.  The importance of making healthy lifestyle choices in pregnancy will be shared.
 
The class is being offered on the 4th Tuesday of each month from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m..
 
Registration is required.  Attendance is limited to the expectant mother and 1 additional person, therefore ONLY the expectant mother needs to register. Registration will close once the class has reached capacity.
