For many health issues, you can get the care you need from the comfort and safety of your home or office when you take advantage of the Riverside Primary Care On Demand virtual clinic. Through your Riverside MyChart patient portal, it’s easy to connect one-on-one with a Riverside medical provider for a live, secure, real-time visit using your computer, tablet or mobile device.

Primary Care On Demand is only available to current Riverside Medical Group patients.

For patients who want virtual “walk-in” care with the next available Riverside primary care provider, an On Demand visit is the perfect choice. Appointments are not necessary, so simply join the queue! Or, if you’re not quite ready, you can schedule your On Demand visit for later, at a time that works for you.

Common reasons to use Primary Care On Demand

The Primary Care On Demand virtual clinic works well for the diagnosis and treatment of common health issues, such as the following:

Illnesses: Colds, flu, sore throat, sinus infections, gastrointestinal ailments, allergies, urinary tract infections and more
Minor injuries: Sprains, strains, minor cuts, bruises, eye injuries, sports injuries, minor burns and more

You should not use Primary Care On Demand for very serious or life-threatening conditions.

How to use Primary Care On Demand

Who can use it? Riverside Primary Care On Demand is available for Riverside Medical Group patients only, ages 5 and older, who are located in Virginia. A parent or guardian with proxy access to their child's health record must be present during any visit with a patient under age 13.

What are the hours? Riverside primary care providers are available online to see patients from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

How do I access Primary Care On Demand? You will access the virtual clinic through Riverside MyChart. (Not a MyChart user yet? Create an account.) After you log in, choose “On Demand Video Visit” to get started. You can find this in the Main Menu under “Find Care.”

What information do I need to provide? Once you launch Primary Care On Demand, MyChart will guide you through a few questions about:

  • Your location
  • The reason for your virtual visit
  • The device you are using for your visit
  • How to notify you when the provider is ready to start
  • Your health history including medications, allergies and health issues
  • Your insurance information (Most insurances accept these visits.)

What if I want to access details from the visit or follow up with my doctor? Medical notes for your On Demand visit will be part of your Riverside MyChart. This free resource lets you take your health record with you wherever you go with your mobile device!

M.D. Express Urgent Care has been part of Riverside Health since 2011, providing outstanding urgent care at five locations across our region. Now these experienced providers are also available to serve you online.

Video visits with M.D. Express Urgent Care are available from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday, through Sunday (closed Thanksgiving and Christmas, and closed at 6:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve). You can access this option through your Riverside MyChart account, using the same instructions described above.
