Riverside Regional Medical Center was awarded Healthgrades’ 2022 Spine Surgery Excellence Award for providing superior clinical outcomes in spinal fusion, back and neck surgeries. Of the more than 4,500 hospitals assessed, only 100 hospitals nationwide received the recognition.
For the award Healthgrades analyzed hospitals’ performance based on patient outcomes from 2018 to 2020. To measure performance, Healthgrades evaluated Medicare inpatient data for back and neck surgeries and spinal fusions. Riverside is the only spine program in Hampton Roads, Richmond, Charlottesville or the greater Washington, D.C. area to earn this award.
