About William Andrew Hackworth, MD

 

Dr. Hackworth received his bachelor's from the University of Virginia and earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University. He also completed an internal medicine internship and residency, followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology, hepatology, and Nutrition at MCV.

Dr. Hackworth is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. He is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Dr. Hackworth is on the active medical staff of Riverside Regional Medical Center and Sentara Careplex.

Dr. Hackworth's special medical interests include the diagnosis and treatment of conditions related to the digestive system, including the esophagus, stomach, colon, liver, gallbladder and pancreas. He routinely performs colonoscopies, endoscopies and other advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
