About Stephen Lester Woodall II, MD
Stephen Woodall II, M.D., is a board-certified family medicine physician caring for people of all ages with a focus on lifestyle medicine and mental health. He chose family medicine to build connections with patients and participate in their health care journey from childhood through adulthood.
Before medical school, Dr. Woodall earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia and a Master of Science in physiology from North Carolina State University. He completed a Doctor of Medicine from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. During medical school, he served as head of research for the International Student Surgical Network (InciSion), a student-led organization that advocates for safe, effective and accessible surgery worldwide. Dr. Woodall later completed a Riverside Family Medicine Residency through Virginia Commonwealth University. He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
Dr. Woodall believes physicians should act as health care guides for patients navigating their unique path toward well-being. He creates a safe space for patients to speak freely, share their goals and create an individualized health care plan.
A native of Raleigh, North Carolina, Dr. Woodall relocated to Virginia for college and appreciated the strong sense of community in the Williamsburg area. When he’s not at work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and fur babies, painting, reading and weightlifting.
