About Scott Richard Kling, MD
Dr. Kling, a fellowship trained surgeon, specializes in hip arthroscopy for the treatment of femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) and labral tears, arthroscopic anatomic anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, arthroscopic meniscus surgery and patellar instability. He also specializes in shoulder arthroscopy for the treatment of instability and rotator cuff tears. Dr. Kling serves as the Physician Practice Director for Riverside Orthopedics, Sports Medicine and Physiatry Specialists.
After earning his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Kling completed an orthopedic residency, followed by an advanced fellowship in hip arthroscopy, at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He further completed a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Kling is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.
Dr. Kling currently serves as the Head Team Orthopedic Surgeon for Christopher Newport University. He is also the Team Orthopedist for Lionsbridge FC and the Peninsula Pilots. He has previously served as an assistant team physician for the Cleveland Browns, as well as working with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Penguins, University of Pittsburgh, and Duquesne University.
Dr. Kling is an alumnus of The College of William and Mary, where he met his wife. They reside in Williamsburg with their two daughters.
