About Ryan Gerrard McQueen, MD

Ryan McQueen, M.D., is a psychiatrist and is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and fellowship trained in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He specializes in adolescent mental health, including behavioral problems, ADHD, anxiety, depression, psychosis and more. Dr. McQueen was born and raised in the Hampton Roads area and brings his unique community experience into patient care. He believes understanding the community is an essential step in the healing process.

After earning an undergraduate degree at Hampton University, Dr. McQueen earned his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. He completed his residency and fellowship at Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Dr. McQueen is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.  

Growing up in Hampton Roads, Dr. McQueen enjoys spending time on Virginia beaches with family and friends and visiting Colonial Williamsburg, where he spent time as a young adult as a historical interpreter and performer. In addition, he is an avid gardener and stays active playing basketball.
