About Roxanne Dorothy Chalifoux, OD
Dr. Chalifoux graduated with honors from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in 2019, earning a Doctor of Optometry with advanced studies in contact lenses. In 2020, she completed an ocular disease optometry residency at the Baltimore Veterans Affairs Medical Center, including training at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
When Dr. Chalifoux needed glasses as a child, she developed a fascination with optometry that eventually inspired her career path. Considering vision and ocular health to be extremely important, she enjoys making a difference in her patients’ eye care. Dr. Chalifoux’s areas of focus include glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, dry eye and contact lenses.
Dr. Chalifoux explains her knowledge to patients and combines it with their input to determine the best management plans together. Since it is important to her to employ treatments that work for her patients, she always encourages them to be part of the decision-making process for optimal management.
Dr. Chalifoux has spent most of her life in Southlake, Texas, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Even though she is partial to snow, she now loves living a coastal lifestyle in Hampton Roads. Dr. Chalifoux enjoys spending time outdoors, particularly at the beach or while running, as well as reading, especially about sea life.
