About Richard R. Edwards, MD
After earning his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in 1984, Dr. Edwards remained with EVMS for internal medicine residency training. He went on to complete a cardiology fellowship at Wake Forest University’s Bowman Gray School of Medicine in 1990. Dr. Edwards is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
Dr. Edwards’ goal is to utilize ever-expanding scientific developments and personal interaction with his patients to improve their cardiac health. He values and makes the most of every individual encounter with his patients. With three decades of experience, Dr. Edwards has particular expertise in cardiac catheterization, interventional procedures, echocardiograms, stress testing modalities and individual-minded patient care.
A Virginia Beach native, Dr. Edwards loves living near the water and enjoys paddle surfing in his free time. He and his wife, Tricia, have three grown children.
