About Oye Akosua Amenyefia, FNP
Board-certified family nurse practitioner Oye Amenyefia joined Riverside Urology Specialists after completing her master’s degree at Virginia Commonwealth University. No stranger to the Riverside family, she previously held the position of nurse preceptor at Riverside Regional Medical Center.
Having completed clinical rotations in cardiology, OB/GYN, oncology and immunology, Oye is trained in various disciplines and procedures. Ultimately, she was drawn to urology for the opportunity to treat a diverse range of conditions.
Oye understands that caring for patients requires empathy and plenty of listening; there is no “one size fits all” approach, and she takes the time to ensure all of their needs are met while treating each individual as if they were family. Her compassionate, patient-centric approach has even earned her multiple nominations for a Daisy Award, an international program that rewards and celebrates the extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care given by nurses.
Born and raised in a military family in Newport News, Oye enjoys its diverse population and the many activities and events. She is married and enjoys exercising, shopping and traveling in her spare time.
