About Michail Alevizakos, MD
Michail Alevizakos, M.D., is a fellowship-trained hematology and oncology physician. While Dr. Alevizakos treats cancers of all types, he specializes in genitourinary cancers, such as those of the bladder, prostate, kidneys and testicles. He individualizes each treatment plan for his patients to achieve the most effective therapy and improve their quality of life.
Dr. Alevizakos earned his medical degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in Greece and was class valedictorian. He did his internal medicine residency at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and completed a hematology-oncology fellowship at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. Dr. Alevizakos is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Research and innovation in cancer care is important to Dr. Alevizakos. He drafted a phase II trial protocol for a new immunotherapy combination to treat advanced kidney cancer and has published extensively in the field. Dr. Alevizakos treats his patients and their loved ones in the manner he would want his own family treated, and he takes the time to make sure patients understand their disease and plan of care.
A native of Athens, Greece, Dr. Alevizakos came to the United States to further his specialty medical education. When he’s not supporting patients through their cancer journey, he enjoys hiking, soccer, history and playing board games.
