About Leah Herzog, MD

Leah N. Herzog, M.D., is a fellowship-trained orthopedic hand surgeon specializing in hand injuries, impairment evaluations, joint injections, fracture care, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections and bone health.  

Dr. Herzog earned a Bachelor of Arts in cell and molecular biology from Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, Pennsylvania. She completed her medical degree at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. Her orthopedic surgery residency took place at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. She then completed a hand surgery fellowship at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. She is board certified by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.   

Dr. Herzog emphasizes the importance of a healthy musculoskeletal system for overall well-being. In her approach to patient care, she prioritizes clear communication and values inclusive, informed decision-making. She is committed to educating her patients about their conditions and collaborating with them to develop personalized care plans.   

A native of Pennsylvania, Dr. Herzog looks forward to exploring our Virginia community. When she’s not at work, she stays active by hiking with her husband and two dogs, cycling, paddleboarding and kayaking. She also enjoys reading about longevity and traveling. Given her hobbies, she appreciates the area’s beaches and nature.
