About Lalida Kunaprayoon, MD

Lalida Kunaprayoon, M.D., is a fellowship-trained nephrology physician specializing in chronic kidney disease (CKD), dialysis, polycystic kidney disease and glomerulonephritis.  

Dr. Kunaprayoon earned her medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean in Saint Maarten. She completed an internal medicine residency at the Hurley Medical Center with Michigan State University in Flint, Michigan and a nephrology fellowship at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. Before her medical training, Dr. Kunaprayoon received a Master of Biomedical Sciences from Rutgers University in Newark, New Jersey and a Bachelor of Science in psychology and human biology from the University of Toronto in Ontario, Canada. She is board certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.  

Dr. Kunaprayoon takes pride in forming lifelong relationships with her patients and cares for them as if they are her own family.  

As an avid cook and traveler, Dr. Kunaprayoon enjoys the diversity of food and culture in Newport News. She also enjoys the area’s mild weather, beaches and natural scenery.
