About Kyndis Richelle Alexander, FNP
Kyndis has been with Riverside Health System since 2019, where she worked as a surgical intensive care nurse in her previous capacity. Before joining Riverside, Kyndis was a nurse manager and family nurse practitioner at the Barry Robinson Center, a youth behavioral health system. There, she oversaw daily medical operations and a team of nursing staff.
Over her 16 years of clinical nursing experience, she has also cared for patients in medical-surgical and cardiac settings. Kyndis earned her master’s in nursing from Walden University and holds a bachelor’s degree from South University in Virginia Beach. She is a board-certified family nurse practitioner, certified medical-surgical registered nurse and certified in advanced cardiovascular life support.
While caring for critical patients, Kyndis gained a deep appreciation for nephrology and ultimately specialized in kidney care. Her goal is to help patients understand and manage their kidney conditions, treating each as if they were a family member. Her competence and compassion have earned her a DAISY award nomination.
A U.S. Army veteran, she served as a combat medic (and in other capacities) from 1999-2013. After being stationed in Missouri, North Carolina, Germany and Virginia Beach, she made Virginia Beach her permanent home.
She is married with three children and enjoys reading, gardening and interior design in her leisure.
