About Kiran Motwani, MD

Kiran K. Motwani, M.D., is a fellowship-trained gastroenterology and hepatology physician with a special interest in inflammatory bowel diseases, including ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease. 

Dr. Motwani earned her medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. She then completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, where she served as chief resident. While there, Dr. Motwani completed a gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship. She is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine.  

Dr. Motwani’s research interests include investigating the correlation between noninvasive biomarkers and outcomes in patients with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis and exploring the effectiveness of inflammatory bowel disease treatments. She believes medicine is a team sport and values collaborating with patients and other health care providers to develop treatment plans that improve outcomes and quality of life.  

When she’s not at work, Dr. Motwani enjoys gardening, cooking, hiking and reading. She also relishes spending time with family and friends.
