About John Francisco Trujillo, MD

John Trujillo, M.D., is a fellowship-trained interventional and structural cardiologist specializing in disorders of the heart’s valves, walls, chambers and muscles. He performs procedures such as Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacements (TAVR), Transcatheter Mitral Valve Repairs (TMVR), Left Atrial Appendage Closures and Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO) Closures. He also sees patients requiring complex or high-risk Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCIs) and works with patients needing additional hemodynamic support.  Dr. Trujillo chose structural cardiology to make an immediate and meaningful impact on his patients’ quality of life.     

Dr. Trujillo earned his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Wilmington, Delaware. At Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey, Dr. Trujillo completed two fellowships, the first in cardiovascular diseases and the other in interventional and structural cardiology. He served as chief fellow during his training and was honored to be his residency graduation class speaker. Dr. Trujillo is triple board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in interventional cardiology, cardiovascular diseases and internal medicine.   

He holds additional certifications in echocardiography, nuclear cardiology and in advanced cardiovascular hemodynamics.  

Dr. Trujillo speaks English and Spanish.  Outside of work, he has many hobbies, including cooking, aviation and cycling.

Dr. Trujillo seemed exceptional. I don't have much experience with cardiologist, but he listened, and gave me a more complete explanation of what was done than I expected.
