About Fariah Ishrat, PA-C

Board-certified physician assistant Fariah Ishrat, PA-C, first joined Riverside as a patient care assistant, having just completed a Bachelor of Science in human nutrition, foods and exercise from Virginia Tech. After earning a Master of Science in physician assistant studies from Shenandoah University, Fariah rejoined Riverside as a physician assistant. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Virginia Academy of Physician Assistants.

Fariah chose to specialize in gastroenterology because of the various aspects of medicine that are encompassed by the focus, such as infectious disease, immunology, and oncology.  Fariah appreciates being part of a multi-disciplinary team and feels rewarded in her practice of gastroenterology because she can create a results-oriented, personalized plan of care for each patient to help them with acute and chronic conditions. 

Having grown up in Hampton Roads, Fariah enjoys the proximity to national parks and likes to spend her free time poultry farming and woodworking.
