About David James Hanna, DO

David J. Hanna, D.O., is fellowship trained in gastroenterology, hepatology, bariatric medicine and clinical nutrition. While he specializes in diagnosing gastroenterological and hepatologic conditions, Dr. Hanna also has particular interests in treating fatty liver disease and obesity. He is board certified in internal medicine, gastroenterology and hepatology, as well as bariatric medicine, and clinical nutrition.

Dr. Hanna earned his medical degree from the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia. He also completed a master’s degree of Clinical Science during his Internal Medicine residency at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pennsylvania.  Dr. Hanna has fellowship training in obesity medicine and clinical nutrition support, as well as gastroenterology and hepatology from Geisinger Health in Danville, Pennsylvania.

Doctor had a " God complex " actually said " I'm not here to be your friend, I'm here to save your life ." Not exactly how I would phrase things even if this were a life threatening condition, which it isn't.

Dr. Hanna is amazing. He came highly recommended. For years I have dealt with problems associated with gastric bypass surgery which were horrible and finally I found Dr. Hanna. He is very thorough in researching my medical needs, educating me to new and insightful ways to help with bariatric issues, and working closely with me to develop a plan for better health. Dr. Hanna cares about his patients. He is compassionate and answers questions. So many things have changed in the medical field since I had my gastric bypass surgery and Dr. Hanna gives you the care and support that is needed for this life long journey. I wish that I had found him sooner. I highly recommend Dr. Hanna.

Dr Hanna is the best he took the time to listen to me and discussed everything throughly with me and he didn't treat me like a number! He is the most caring and passionate Dr you have at riverside! I recommend him to everyone that needs a dr! Thank you Dr Hanna for taking excellent care of me
