About Courtney Ann Conklin, MD
Courtney A. Conklin, M.D., is a fellowship-trained primary care sports medicine physician specializing in non-operative orthopedic care of bone fractures, joint dislocations, ligament tears, sprains, concussions and sports injuries. She is experienced in sideline and training room oversight, ultrasound-guided diagnosis and treatment.
Dr. Conklin earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She earned her medical degree at the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in Sint Maarten. Dr. Conklin completed the Riverside Health family medicine residency through Virginia Commonwealth University in Newport News. She then returned to the University of Alabama where she finished a fellowship in primary care sports medicine. She is board certified in family medicine with a certificate of added qualification in sports medicine from the American Board of Family Medicine.
With a passion for helping people of all ages stay active, Dr. Conklin feels at home in sports medicine. Her goal is to support athletes and active individuals in preventing and recovering from injuries. Her care is patient-centered, and she takes pride in blending the science of medicine with a compassionate understanding of each patient’s lifestyle goals.
Born and raised in northern Virginia, Dr. Conklin appreciates the history of Newport News. When she’s not on the sidelines supporting athletes, you can find her watching college football, being active with her dogs or enjoying the Poquoson River.
