About Chase Stephen Correia, MD

Dr. Correia is a board-certified, fellowship-trained rheumatologist. While he has extensive experience in systemic sclerosis research and treatment, Dr. Correia also cares for patients with many rheumatic conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, gout, osteoarthritis, Sjögren's, lupus and myositis.

Because our understanding of rheumatic diseases advances rapidly, and the treatment options expand each year as new discoveries are made, Dr. Correia believes that this is an exciting time to be a rheumatologist. He specialized in rheumatology for the opportunity to develop meaningful, long-term relationships with his patients and looks forward to getting to know each of his Riverside patients individually while fulfilling Riverside’s mission to “care for others as we would care for those we love.”

With multiple of publications and presentations to his name, Dr. Correia is a prolific researcher, educator and leader in the field of rheumatology. He won grant funding to study advanced diagnostic and treatment solutions for rheumatic diseases, as well as the Excellence in Teaching Award from Northwestern University. He is also an avid community health volunteer and has provided free medical care to patients in homeless shelters, community clinics, and in rural Honduras.

He earned his medical degree from the University of Nevada in Reno and completed an internal medicine residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago, where he was also appointed chief resident in 2015. The following year, he began a rheumatology fellowship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, also in Chicago. At Northwestern, he became a faculty member and co-director of the Northwestern scleroderma program while earning a Master of Science in clinical investigation.

Originally from Reno, Nevada, Dr. Correia is married with two children. He enjoys mountain biking, running, hiking, cycling and spending time outdoors with his family.
