Dr. Vaughan completed his undergraduate degree at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC, and his medical degree at Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC. Subsequently, he completed his residency in internal medicine at Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine in Norfolk, VA, completing a year as chief resident. Additionally, he completed a fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at the Medical College of Georgia.

Dr. Vaughan is Board Certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular diseases and is a licensed nuclear cardiologist. He has been practicing cardiology since 1993. Dr. Vaughan's current practice includes non-invasive, invasive, and interventional cardiology.
