About Catherine Grace Wilson, MD
Catherine G. Wilson, M.D., is a fellowship-trained, board-certified primary care sports medicine physician specializing in sports injuries, bone fractures, ligament tears, sprains, game and training room oversight, ultrasound-guided corticosteroid injection and diagnostic ultrasound.
Dr. Wilson earned her medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk. She completed her family medicine residency through Riverside's program, which is affiliated with the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University. She then completed a primary care sports medicine fellowship at the University of Kentucky in Lexington. She is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
As an athlete and collegiate field hockey player, Dr. Wilson shares a passion for sports and performance with her patients. She believes each athlete has their own experience and unique goals that play a role in creating an optimal treatment plan. Her experience includes caring for a wide range of athletes and acting as the team physician for the University of Kentucky and Frederick Douglass High School in Lexington and Georgetown College in Georgetown, KY.
When she’s not at work, Dr. Wilson spends time with her family and dogs, kayaking and cheering on her favorite teams. She enjoys the diversity of Newport News, its beautiful landscapes and the opportunities for adventure.
