About Carla Olsen Branson, CNM

Carla O. Branson, MSN, CNM, is a board-certified nurse midwife specializing in women’s health, prenatal care, pregnancy, labor and delivery, and menopause. As a trusted provider, Carla prides herself on holistic care that considers patients’ physical, psychological and spiritual health. She treats patients as family and partners in care, encouraging shared health care planning and decision-making.

After completing the Professional Nursing program at Riverside College of Health Careers, Carla earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Purdue University Global and completed a Master of Science in nursing at Frontier University in Versailles, Kentucky. She is board certified as a nurse midwife by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB). Carla is also a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and a 2019 recipient of the Daisy Award for excellence in nursing.

Women’s health and midwifery is truly Carla’s calling and passion. She chose this specialty to provide compassionate care across the lifespan and to empower birthing women and their families during an exciting yet vulnerable process. She is honored to serve her community and values being part of a health system dedicated to healing.

Carla was born and raised in Virginia and is a lifelong resident of the Hampton Roads area. She enjoys the region with her supportive husband of 20 years and three children.
