About Caleb William Anderson, MD

Caleb W. Anderson, M.D., is a fellowship-trained, board-certified rheumatology physician specializing in rheumatoid arthritis, seronegative spondyloarthropathies, systemic sclerosis, gout, dermatomyositis and autoimmune myositis. He is skilled at diagnostic joint fluid removal and therapeutic corticosteroid injections. 

Dr. Anderson earned his Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Virginia and completed an internal medicine residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.  Dr. Anderson concluded his medical training with a fellowship in rheumatology at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Prior to his medical training, he earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and biology from Radford University in Radford, Virginia. He is board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.  

Dr. Anderson develops personalized care plans for patients, incorporating both traditionally effective and groundbreaking treatments. He believes clear communication is one of the most essential elements of each patient’s experience.  

When he’s not at work, Dr. Anderson enjoys spending time with his family and staying active with gardening, oil painting and weightlifting. As a native Virginian who grew up on a farm in southwest Virginia, he appreciates coastal Virginia’s rich history and colonial architecture.
