About Andrew William Lewis, MD

Dr. Lewis, a Board Certified Ophthalmologist, specializes in the treatment of people with severely reduced vision as well as providing general medical Ophthalmology. He obtained his undergraduate and Optometry degrees from Indiana University and received his Doctorate of Medicine from the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, MD. He completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, CA and has served 24 years in the US Navy. Dr. Lewis has most recently served as a comprehensive Ophthalmologist at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, VA.

As a Low Vision specialist, Dr. Lewis works with people who have partial sight, maximizing their remaining vision and enhancing their ability to perform daily activities. His dual training as an Optometrist and Ophthalmologist allows him to provide a unique level of specialty care to those with visual limitations.

Dr. Lewis is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology.
