About Andrea Beth Lese, MD
Andréa Lese, M.D., is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand and wrist trauma, carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, De Quervain’s tenosynovitis and other common hand conditions. Dr. Lese takes a team approach to providing comprehensive care and helping patients return to an active lifestyle.
Dr. Lese earned her medical degree from Heidelberg University in Heidelberg, Germany, and completed two residencies at Yale New Haven Hospital, Connecticut, one in emergency medicine, the other in orthopedic surgery. She also completed a hand and upper extremity fellowship with the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Dr. Lese is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Dr. Lese serves on several committees for the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH) and is the trauma editor for the organization’s online catalog of video education for surgeons, residents and allied health care professionals. She has co-authored several academic research papers, reporting on recent surgery findings, orthopedic residents’ experiences, and hand and finger injuries.
When she’s not in the operating room, Dr. Lese enjoys traveling, studying foreign languages and photography. She lives an active lifestyle, taking advantage of the area’s outdoor spaces for running and cycling.
