CT scan (Computed Axial Tomography)
A CT (also called CAT) scan is short for "computer assisted tomography." It is a valuable diagnostic tool for neurological, heart and vascular specialists. CT scans are more detailed than general x-rays, using computers to generate a three-dimensional image from flat, two-dimensional x-ray pictures.

MRI
Magnetic resonance imaging is a non-invasive technology that produces three dimensional detailed anatomical images without the use of damaging radiation. It is often used to detect disease and monitor treatment. MRI scanners are particularly well suited to image the non-bony parts or soft tissues of the body. The brain, spinal cord and nerves, as well as muscles, ligaments, and tendons are seen much more clearly with MRI than with regular x-rays and CT.
Electromyogram
Often referred to as an EMG, an electromyogram records electrical activity of muscles. Active muscles produce an electrical current which is usually proportional to the level of muscle activity.

Neuromuscular ultrasound is a painless, non-invasive form of imaging used to evaluate peripheral nerve disease and help diagnose neurological disorders. It can show the neurologist a real time, high definition view of the anatomy of a nerve as well as the surrounding tissue.

An electroencephalogram, or EEG, is a test that measures and records the electrical activity of the brain. Certain conditions, such as epilepsy, can be detected based on changes in the normal pattern of the brain's electrical activity.
