Men in Blue offers an opportunity for you to share your knowledge, experiences and learnings to support and assist each other.

Men in Blue meets the third Thursday or the month at the Riverside Cancer Care Center’s First Floor Conference Room at 12100 Warwick Blvd in Newport News, VA 23601. For more information call 757-534-5196.

daVinci Fraternity

There is a local group of prostate cancer survivors who all had surgery using the da Vinci robot known as the da Vinci Fraternity. For contact information, please call the Prostate Cancer Patient Navigator.

Sexuality issues

Many couples are concerned about how cancer, and the cancer treatment, will affect their sexual intimacy.

Fertility concerns

Some men, generally in the younger end of the diagnosis spectrum, are concerned about how their prostate cancer treatment will affect their future fertility. Be sure to discuss this concern with your physician to understand the impact of treatments, as well as options for your situation.

Integrative therapies

At Riverside, we believe that it is important to treat the entire patient, not just the cancer, and our Integrative Medicine Program, offered through the Peninsula Cancer Institute, is one of the ways we do that.

Prostate cancer patient navigator

Riverside Cancer Care’s Patient Navigation program helps guide patients and their families through the healthcare system in general and the prostate cancer experience in particular.

Mary Cleckler, the Riverside Prostate Cancer Patient Navigator, can help smooth out an often scary and sometimes isolated road. She is there to help guide you through tests, treatments and the many questions you might face. Providing reliable information and comforting support, Mary helps cancer patients and their loved ones through diagnosis, treatment and cancer survival.

Along with assistance related directly to cancer care, Mary can also help with concerns about insurance, transportation and a variety of support services. Riverside’s Patient Navigation Program is here for you at no cost.

You can reach Mary and the Prostate Cancer Patient Navigation Program at 757-534-5196.
