Kristy Kelly

Kristy M. Kelly PT, DPT, FDNS

Kristy M. Kelly holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree (2011) from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. She received her Functional Dry Needling training levels 1 & 2 through Kinetacore and has been actively dry needling since 2015. Kristy’s interest in dry needling continued to bloom as patients began to see immediate gains in a few visits. In 2020 Kristy became a Functional Dry Needling Specialist (FDNS), obtaining the highest level of training available in dry needling interventions. Kristy’s dry needling treatment opportunities have included a variety of conditions: orthopedic, athletes (e.g., pro-bare back riders and UNM rodeo team), chronic conditions (e.g., neck, shoulder and back pain) as well as injuries from accidents. Kristy has also developed an interest in treating neurological conditions from stroke to SCI with dry needling techniques.

Kristy’s educational background and experience include the implementation of osteopathic techniques (Great Lakes Seminars), Postural Restoration Institute (PRI) training, World of Hurt: Chronic Pain education, McKenzie Institute instruction, and is a 200-hour certified Hot Yoga/Vinyasa instructor. Kristy continues to be an open-minded and avid learner in order to provide her patients with the most current and effective plan of care for optimal health and well being.

Kristy lives in Williamsburg with her beautiful daughter Birdie and husband Justin, who is also a physical therapist. She enjoys spending time with her family, exercising and exploring historical areas. Kristy has had a significant history of back injuries and therefore has a distinct ability to genuinely understand and connect with her patients. Kristy’s goal is to have her patients get back to the life they want to live. As Audrey Hepburn once said, “Nothing is impossible”. The word itself says, “ I’m possible!”

Rachel Brady, OT, CHT

Rachel Brady, OTR/L, CHT

Rachel earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) with a concentration in drawing near her hometown at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She attended the University of Pittsburgh where she obtained a Masters of Occupational Therapy (MOT).

While working as a hand therapist in the Philadelphia area, she accomplished a long-held goal of achieving a further designation as a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT). Rachel wanted to pursue a career in hand therapy because of the precision required to treat the upper extremity as well as the need for creative problem solving and fabrication of orthoses. Being able to meet and help the wide variety of people who sustain hand injuries is an added bonus. In her spare time, Rachel enjoys seeking out adventures and new experiences. She loves Bachata dancing, cooking challenging recipes, and improving herself personally and professionally.”

Tahamtan_Katie_PT

Katie Tahamtan, PT, DPT, OCS, Pelvic Floor Team Lead

Katie graduated with a doctorate of physical therapy from Texas Woman’s University in 2015, began providing pelvic treatment in 2018, obtained her orthopedic certified specialist designation in 2020, and completed the Herman and Wallace level 3 course in 2021. Some of her training includes bowel/bladder dysfunction, sexual dysfunction, antepartum/postpartum care, female and male pelvic pain, pelvic cancer care, hypermobility/EDS, trauma informed care, and a myriad of orthopedic skills. She’s been fortunate to have strong and diverse mentorship, and have collaborated with urologists, gynecologists, obstetricians, gastroenterologists, behavioral health, massage therapists, and other practitioners to help her patients meet their goals.

Katie’s clinical philosophy is to hear her patients, understand them, meet them where they are, establish trust and a shame-free environment for healing, and work as hard as they do to meet their goals. She loves working with all diagnoses—male, female, leakage, retention, post-prostatectomy, pelvic prolapse, pregnancy/postpartum—and the most memorable cases she’s worked with involved patients who had become hopeless about their situation prior to starting pelvic floor PT. It’s a privilege to be able to share what she’s learned to inspire hope, healing, and confidence.

In her personal time she enjoys spending time with family, crafting, exploring the outdoors, reading, and staying active. Katie is currently working on a yoga teacher training.
