About William H. McAllister IV, MD
Dr. McAllister is a board certified neurosurgeon on the Virginia Peninsula who specializes in brain and spine surgery. He has a particular interest in the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia, brain tumors and robotic spine surgery. He is the co-medical director of the Radiosurgery Center at Riverside and helps perform many treatments on the Gamma Knife.
He values honesty and has a straightforward approach to neurosurgical practice.
Dr. McAllister proudly earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of North Carolina. He then completed residency training in Neurosurgery at Loyola University Medical Center and Cook County Hospital in Chicago. He received training in surgical treatment of spinal deformities at Rush St. Luke's Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago. He also completed training in neurology at the University of California, San Francisco. He is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery since 2001.
Dr. McAllister was born in Norfolk and considers Tidewater his home. Outside of his neurosurgical practice he enjoys cycling, hiking, reading and being with his wife and two sons.
