About Rosser McCallie, MD

Rosser W. McCallie, M.D., is a fellowship-trained orthopedic trauma surgeon. He specializes in periarticular injuries as well as pelvic and acetabular fractures. Specializing in orthopedic trauma allows him to provide care to patients experiencing a time of crisis and help them return to their prior level of function.  

Dr. McCallie earned a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta and a Master of Science in physiology from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He then earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. He completed an orthopedic surgery residency at the Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and an orthopedic surgery fellowship at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.  

During his orthopedic training, Dr. McCallie’s research interests included evaluating combined pelvis and acetabular injuries as well as minimizing narcotic use following orthopedic surgery.   

Born and raised in Georgia, Dr. McCallie looks forward to exploring our coastal Virginia community. He enjoys cooking, reading and spending time with his family and pets.
