About Rohit Kalia, MD

Rohit Kalia, M.D., is a board-certified, fellowship-trained infectious disease physician. He specializes in treating a wide range of complex infections caused by various bacteria, fungi, viruses or parasites including bone infections, endocarditis, HIV, Hepatitis C, antibiotic resistant Infections.

Dr. Kalia earned his medical degree from the Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in Punjab, India. Subsequently, during his training at University of Southern California in Los Angles, he completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in infectious diseases, including transplant infectious diseases. Following his time in California, Dr. Kalia served as an infectious disease consultant in various other states around the United States.  

Dr. Kalia believes getting to know each patient is an important part of the diagnosis and the healing process.  

When he’s not working, Dr. Kalia enjoys Hampton Roads weather, exploring the Chesapeake Bay region with his family and is an avid pickleball player. He also likes learning about new cultures and is fluent in multiple languages including English, Punjabi and Hindi, as well as some Spanish.
