About Olubusola Helen Amiola, MD

After training in medicine and surgery at Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, Nigeria, Dr. Olubusola Amiola completed her internship in internal medicine at Brookdale University hospital in New York, and residency in neurology at Tulane University School of Medicine. She subsequently went on for fellowship training in neurophysiology at Louisiana State University School of Medicine.  Dr. Amiola is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr. Amiola chose neurology because she is fascinated by the human brain and how neurological disorders affect the body, which fuels her interest in treating patients with neuromuscular disorders, epilepsy and strokes. She finds nothing more rewarding than caring for the needs of her patients and is committed to keeping her patients and their families informed while providing compassionate care at every stage of treatment.

Originally from Nigeria, Dr. Amiola has lived in Louisiana, New York, Maryland, and now Virginia since moving to the United States. She is fluent in both English and Yoruba and basic Spanish and French. She enjoys Virginia’s beautiful landscape and welcoming communities. Away from work, Dr. Amiola likes to travel, read novels and spend time with her husband, who is also a neurologist, and their two sons.
