About John Damian Long, MD

 

Dr. Long received his bachelor's degree from Washington and Lee University and earned his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School. He completed an internal medicine internship and served as Chief Medical Resident during his residency at Winthrop- University Hospital. He then completed his Fellowship in Gastroenterology at Tulane University School of Medicine.

Dr. Long is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology and is a fellow of the American College of Physicians. He is a member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Medical Association, and the American Neurogastroenterology & Motility Society. Dr. Long has been selected as one of "The Best Doctors in America" by Best Doctors, Inc. for four consecutive years.

Dr. Long's special medical interests include the diagnosis and treatment of conditions related to the digestive system, including the esophagus, stomach, colon, liver, gallbladder and pancreas. He routinely performs colonoscopies, endoscopies, and other advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
