At the Southern Gerontological Society's 36th Annual Meeting in Williamsburg, Jensen began her tenure as president of the multi-state organization and was named Applied Gerontologist of the Year.

Williamsburg, Va –Christine Jensen, PhD received the Applied Gerontologist of the Year Award earlier this month from the Southern Gerontological Society (SGS) during its 36th Annual Meeting held earlier this month in Williamsburg, Va.

Award recipients, according to the SGS, demonstrate a sustained record of leadership in the field of aging, are recognized in their fields and have positively impacted older adults' quality of life through developing innovative programs.

"This came as a complete surprise, and honor," Jensen said, thrilled to see the work she helps conduct as the Director of Health Services Research for Riverside Health's Center for Excellence in Aging and Lifelong Health (CEALH) recognized.
