Delivering on a commitment to supporting a wide range of community programs, Riverside Doctors’ Hospital Williamsburg recently sponsored scholarships for three Williamsburg-James City County (WJCC) graduating high school seniors who are pursuing careers in health care. Funded by Riverside, the scholarships were presented through the Williamsburg Community Foundation’s WJCC Scholarship Fund.

This year’s recipients of the Riverside Doctors’ Hospital Scholarship included Thomas Hallett of Jamestown High School, Sydney Lord of Lafayette High School, and Desislava Yordanova of Warhill High School. Margaret Atkins, Riverside Doctors’ Hospital Chief Nursing Officer, was on hand to present the scholarships at an awards ceremony in June held at Lafayette High School.

It is the seventh year in a row that Riverside Doctors’ Hospital Williamsburg has funded Williamsburg Community Foundation scholarships for local students.

“Riverside is delighted to once again help support deserving young men and women in our area as they look to continue their education in the health care field,” said Adria Vanhoozier, Vice President and Administrator for Riverside Doctors’ Hospital Williamsburg. “It is an honor to give back to the local community in ways like this, and we are proud that Thomas, Sydney and Desislava are choosing to take up this caring and dedicated profession.”
