Emergency Medicine Residency Program

SALARIES

  • First Year - $55,630
  • Second Year - $57,105
  • Third Year - $58,527

ECFMG and Foreign Medical Graduates will be considered on an individual basis.

PGY-1

  • Malpractice insurance is paid for by Riverside Regional Medical Center.
  • Scrub uniforms provided on surgical rotations.
  • Two lab coats and one fleece jacket/vest with name.
  • Health Insurance for resident, resident is responsible for premium and copays.
  • Three weeks paid vacation per year.15 Business Days, known as Paid Time Off (PTO).
  • Moving Stipend $1,000 (taxed).
  • Small meal stipend to supplement your food cost while on duty.
  • Resident Education Fund would include, books, study material, devices. No other conferences allowed for 1st year unless you are presenting a paper or poster.

Benefit

  • Step III: will reimburse exam fee once.
  • Temporary medical license fee.
  • ABEM Dues. I
  • TE Exam.

Book

  • Tintinalli’s, nineth edition.

Other

USMLE III is expected to be passed during PGY1 year, and must be passed to enter PGY3 year. If not, resident will have a six month probation period to pass. If not completed at the end of the six month probation period, resident will be terminated. When passed, residency will reimburse for one test.

* All above to be approved by Director of Program and are subject to availability of funds. No funds carry over to next year.

PGY-2

  • Malpractice insurance is paid for by Riverside Regional Medical Center.
  • Scrub uniforms provided on surgical rotations and 1 lab coat and 1 fleece with name.
  • Health Insurance for resident, responsible for part of premium.
  • Three weeks paid vacation per year (15 days). Begin accruing sick leave.

Resident Fund

Books, cell phone, tablet, laptop, or other educational material and Conference/course.
Renewal of temporary medical license or one permanent license will be purchased by RRMC and will not come out of Conference monies.

  • Dues: ABEM Dues.
  • ITE exam
