We are located on the coast of Virginia, along the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean. We are only a two-hour drive from the mountains and skiing in West Virginia and Virginia. We are two and a half hours from Washington D.C. and only a 45 minute flight from LaGuardia.
We are served locally at the Newport News Williamsburg International Airport, who offer several daily direct flights to many major cities across the United States.. The Norfolk International Airport is 25 miles from Riverside Hospital and is served by many major airlines as well. We also have the Richmond International Airport 70 miles away from Riverside Hospital.
There is AAA Baseball available in Norfolk (Norfolk Tides) and professional hockey (Norfolk Admirals) also in Norfolk. Peninsula Pilots is a local Professional baseball team and Hampton Roads Mariners is a local professional soccer team.
The Mariners Museum is located in Newport News and is the home of many relics from the sea. The Virginia Living Museum is adjacent to the hospital and is an incredible asset to the community. In the area we also have the Peninsula Fine Arts Center, Ferguson Center for the Arts and the Virginia Air and Space Center.
Christopher Newport University is also one of our nearby neighbors, and Hampton University is located in the adjacent city of Hampton. The College of William and Mary is located in Williamsburg, VA.
Our population contains a large number of federal employees and military personnel because of the presence of numerous military installations and bases in the area, and because of NASA Research Center in Hampton. Newport News is also the home of the Jefferson Lab that houses the world's longest Electron Beam Accelerator. Our economy is strong, and the education level in the area is high.

With an abundance of waterways and parks, cultural events and attractions, our location in Newport News provides a great place to both explore and relax.We have several relaxing spots in the area including Newport News Park, Deer Park, Noland Trail, Water Country USA and Busch Gardens Williamsburg.
For History buffs we have Colonial Williamsburg located in the historic district in the city of Williamsburg. The Yorktown Battlefields are located in one of the eight original shires formed in colonial Virginia in 1682. The Jamestown Settlement in Williamsburg was the first permanent English settlement in America. Fort Monroe houses the Casemate Museum which chronicles the military history of Fort Monroe and is free and open to the public. American military history is showcased at the Virginia War Museum, located in Huntington Park near the iconic James River Bridge.
