Frequently Asked Questions
A Clinical Medical Assistant is a team member trained to work with patients and support the clinical team. They assist patients that are being seen in the practice as well as communicate with patients outside the practice. Other tasks may include documenting and obtaining medical histories, preparing patients for examinations, customer service, and even medication administration and blood drawing.
The Earn and Learn Program allows you to start employment in a Riverside practice as a Clinical Medical Assistant Intern while being paid for working hours and having tuition, books, and software paid by Riverside. After completion of on-the-job training, the team member can later apply to become a registered medical assistant.
This program is an accelerated program, so the intern must commit to attending no less than 95% of the program, which is equal to no less than 3 days missed.
The Earn and Learn Program is a great way to complete the Clinical Medical Assistant role without relying on student loans or out of pocket costs. The program is designed as a pathway to a healthcare career for those who wish to be a Riverside team member long-term and, as such, comes with a work agreement. The work agreement requires a 12-month commitment with Riverside Health post-graduation.
