"My commitment is to community and I'm looking forward to getting to know this community."
Riverside Health System is pleased to announce that Dr. Marianne Dait, D.O. has joined the Riverside Hayes Medical Center clinical team and is accepting new patients. Dait, pronounced "diet", comes to Virginia following 16 years practicing family medicine in New York.
"This is an easy place to call home," Dait said. "I was looking for a place where I'd want to eventually retire. Seeing the area, meeting the people, made this an easy choice." A Pennsylvania native, she earned her medical degree from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1994. "I believe in the holistic approach and treating the patient as a whole," Dait said. Dait also firmly believes in the power of preventative medicine. "When you can help patients understand more about what they have, and what they can do on their own, it helps in their overall treatment," Dait said. "I try to encourage healthy lifestyles through education, encouragement and guidance."
Why Riverside? In addition to relocating to be closer to family, "it was the mission statement. Promising to treat people as they would treat their family," Dait said. "It caught my eye, and then when I came to visit I saw that it was more than a mission statement."
Riverside's Hayes Medical Center marks the southernmost practice the health system operates on the Middle Peninsula. Its comprehensive medical care offered on site includes, among others, prevention and healthy living services, well visits, medical screenings, on-site laboratory, chronic disease management, a range of in-office procedures, x-rays and treatment of dermatological conditions.
Dait said she is looking forward to exploring Gloucester and getting more involved in the community, from sports to community outreach to education. "My commitment is to community," Dait said, "and I'm looking forward to getting to know this community."
Riverside's range of medical services offered on the Middle Peninsula are anchored north near the Main Street business corridor by Riverside Walter Reed Hospital, a 67-bed acute care facility that provides comprehensive services and state-of-the-art technology to the communities of the Middle Peninsula. Hospital services include emergency, inpatient and outpatient surgery, imaging and laboratory.
In addition to family medicine, internal medicine and general surgery practices located on the hospital's 30-acre campus, Riverside's comprehensive services on the Middle Peninsula includes the Riverside Wellness and Fitness Center, the Middle Peninsula Cancer Institute, Home Care, a therapy suite that includes physical, nutrition, speech, hand and occupational therapies, cardiology, gastroenterology, a Nephrology and Sleep Center, orthopedics, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, physiatry, urology, vascular and women's health.
