I am pleased to announce that we’ve received approval on the Certificate of Public Need (COPN) to build Doctors' Hospital in Williamsburg. This is the culmination of nearly five years of efforts to bring healthcare choice to the citizens of Williamsburg and the surrounding area.
This approval may not have been possible without the overwhelming support of the local community, demonstrated by strong participation in public meetings as well as the more than 2000 letters written in support of Doctors Hospital. Our next step is to complete and submit a site plan and to initiate work with the architectural board of Williamsburg who will decide the final design.
Doctors Hospital will include 40 private rooms – 10 of which will be for intensive care. Other services include a diagnostic center that will provide an array of imaging options, two operating rooms, and a 24-hour emergency care center. This will be a much-needed facility in an area seeing tremendous growth and fits into our strategy of extending care into surrounding communities. Over the coming months we will keep you informed as plans are solidified.
Thanks again for all your support in this effort.
