Riverside Regional Medical Center (RRMC) has been recognized as with the Lantern Award from the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA). Emergency departments that receive the Lantern Award show a deep commitment to providing safe and efficient care, positive patient outcomes and a supportive work environment for team members. RRMC is only one of only two facilities in the state to receive this designation.
“The Lantern Award is a testament to our team’s dedication to providing exceptional emergency care for our patients and community,” says Mary Haigh, RN, RRMC Emergency Department Nursing Director. “This award signifies that our department meets the highest standards of care, and ensures our patients receive the best possible treatment when they need it most.”
The ENA Lantern Award notes that RRMC has demonstrated continued distinction in leadership, practice, education, advocacy and research. The three-year award is a visible symbol of the department’s commitment to safety, quality and patient satisfaction, and provides a benchmark for other departments striving for excellence in emergency nursing and patient care.
“It’s an honor to be recognized with this award, as it’s a testament to our team's unwavering efforts and passion for delivering evidenced-based, safe, quality health care,” says Sadie Thurman, Chief Nursing Officer at Riverside Regional Medical Center. “This also reflects our team’s continuous efforts to improve and innovate, ultimately benefiting the health and well-being of our community.”
