Riverside Health is proud to announce that Riverside Doctors’ Hospital Williamsburg (RDHW) has received Advanced Hip & Knee Replacement Certification (HKRPC) from DNV. This certification recognizes excellence in orthopedic surgery within the scope of hip and knee replacement and related procedures inclusive of initial diagnostic services, surgical services and therapies related to hip and knee replacement care.
“We are proud to be the only hospital in Virginia to receive this certification from DNV,” says Adria Vanhoozier, President of Riverside Doctors’ Hospital Williamsburg. “Over the last several years, our orthopedic team has worked diligently to recruit fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons, incorporate innovative technology and expand training across our team to exhibit excellence in orthopedic surgery, and more specifically within the scope of Hip and Knee Replacement.”
The DNV Advanced Hip & Knee Replacement Certification requirements are informed by the ERAS® Society Orthopaedic guidelines, the guidelines of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and relevant requirements of the CMS Conditions of Participation for Hospitals. This certification is awarded every three years, but the DNV monitors and evaluates hospitals annually to ensure they are meeting the requirements.
“Achieving certification shows our commitment to excellence,” says Daniel Valaik, M.D., a fellowship-trained and board-certified hip and knee total joint replacement orthopedic surgeon with Riverside Orthopedic Specialists. “Our exceptional team has, and will remain, committed to providing the highest level of care for those in Williamsburg and the neighbouring communities.”
