How to Apply for the Internal Medicine Residency Program

Our application process is designed to identify candidates who demonstrate the potential to excel in internal medicine and contribute to our mission of providing exceptional patient care.

Application Requirements
We participate in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) and accept applications through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). To apply, please ensure you submit the following materials:
- ERAS Application: Complete the ERAS application form available on the AAMC website.
- Personal Statement: A one-page personal statement detailing your interest in internal medicine, your career goals, and why you have chosen our program.
- Medical School Transcript: Official transcript from your medical school.
- Dean's Letter (MSPE): Medical Student Performance Evaluation from your medical school.
- Letters of Recommendation: Three letters of recommendation, including one from a department chair or program director and two from faculty members who can speak to your clinical abilities and character. We strongly recommend two letters come from Internal Medicine faculty.
- USMLE or COMLEX Scores: Official scores from the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) or Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination (COMLEX).
- Curriculum Vitae (CV): An updated CV highlighting your education, clinical experiences, research, and any other relevant activities.
- ECFMG certificate: if applicable
- Photo: A recent passport-sized photograph.
Eligibility Criteria
- Medical Degree: Applicants must have graduated from an accredited medical school.
- USMLE/COMLEX Scores: Applicants must have passed USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CK or COMLEX Level 1 and Level 2-CE to matriculate.
- ECFMG Certification: International medical graduates (IMGs) must be certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) at the time of application.
- Visa Status: IMGs must have a valid visa or permanent resident status (green card). Our program sponsors J-1 visas.
Interview Process
Selected candidates will be invited for an interview. Interviews are conducted from October 7 to January 31. Interviews are offered both in person and virtual for the upcoming application cycle. The interview process includes:
- Program Overview: A detailed presentation about our program, curriculum, and facilities.
- Interviews with Faculty: One-on-one interviews with our faculty members.
- Q&A Session with Current Residents: An opportunity to interact with our current residents and ask questions about their experiences.
