It's All About Specialized Care and Support
The Evergreen is dedicated to providing comfort and care for individuals living with mild to moderate levels of memory impairment due to dementia, including Alzheimer's. Our program is designed not only to maintain but to improve quality of life with stimulating activities, socialization and lifestyle support in a secure residential atmosphere. Our discrete, state-of-the art security system ensures a safe, unrestrained environment for every individual.

Encouraging Independence and Active Living
Services help residents to live as independently as possible, while providing assistance with the daily tasks they might otherwise find difficult to accomplish. Wellness and fitness programs help residents remain physically active, while off-campus outings and onsite projects challenge them to live life to their fullest potential.

As a result, individuals are usually able to stay in our comfortable residential setting longer, delaying or occasionally eliminating the need for nursing care. In the event that impairment exceeds a moderate level, we'll assist your loved one with a smooth transition to our secure memory care program at The Piedmont at The Gardens to better meet his or her needs.

Memory Support

Home
From a comforting fire in the fireplace to flower beds filled with spring blooms, The Evergreen feels like home. Common areas are made inviting by a blend of traditional furnishings and personal mementos. The country style kitchen is available for fixing snacks, and every visit with friends and family in the living room or courtyard just feels right.

The Evergreen is designed to encourage residents to interact freely with others, while allowing them to enjoy a sense of privacy within their own apartments. In fact, 22 bright and cheerful residential apartments are among the most spacious in the region, opening onto shared spaces such as an enclosed courtyard, living room, or dining and activity areas.

Confidence
Our innovative approach to care in both The Evergreen and The Piedmont surrounds the use of PALs—Program Activity Leaders—to deliver care and services to residents. PALs are many things—CNA, medical tech, cook (for light meals), activities professional and friend—all rolled into one compassionate caregiver.

Recognizing that the traditional CNA responsibilities can become mundane, mixing several household responsibilities allows higher resident-to-staff ratios and makes the job more rewarding.

PALs enhance resident life by recreating the aspects of home while establishing closer relationships with the residents, their families and co-workers. PALs are actively involved in planning care for residents. The result is more personal, customized care that is consistent with each resident's choices, interests and lifestyle preferences.

All studies to date show that PALs are likely to stay much longer in their positions because job satisfaction is much higher than the traditional CNA role, and that means more familiarity and better continuity of care for your loved one.

Belonging
Our memory support program encourages family involvement in every resident's experience in our community. Counseling and educational programs are available to family, along with direct access to our professional staff including the Executive Director/Administrator, Director of Health Services, Registered Dietitian, Mental Health Specialists and our Chaplain.

Family participation is encouraged in the development of individual care plans for residents. We also host a memory support group for caregivers right here within the community. This level of involvement and interaction ensures that you, as well as your loved one, have a genuine relationship with The Evergreen.
