Aging in Place
Remain in the community as you grow older
According to a recent survey conducted by AARP, over three-fourths of adults 50 and older wish to remain in their homes and community as they age. If you or someone close to you shares that wish it's good to know that Riverside provides and coordinates a wide range of resources designed to help people continue to live in the residence of their choice and remain as independent as possible.
Part of this support comes in the form of newer technologies that are helping older adults, including those living alone, feel safer, more comfortable and more secure in the home.
A good example is Riverside Alert, a 24/7 medical response system that makes sure no one needs to feel isolated and cut off from assistance in case of sudden medical problems or accidents. Another valuable resource is Riverside's Medication Dispensing Service which helps assure that you or a close friend or family member is taking the right medications at the right time – through a home dispensing unit and a built-in voice announcement that tells when it's time for the next dose.
Tell us about yourself.
In addition to support for Aging in Place within your own home or residence, Riverside has residential options for individuals who would feel more secure in other settings. It's all part of the vision that Riverside Lifelong Health extends to the community: "As I age, I will control my destiny in a place of my choosing."
