Riverside Shore Home Health provides the trained staff and specialized services needed to help you maintain your safety, independence and security in the comfort of your own home. Home Health is usually provided to individuals recovering from an illness, surgery or hospital stay.
Riverside's In-Home Technology services have one goal: to keep you or your loved one safe in your own home for as long as possible. We offer three different supportive in-home services.
Our highly trained staff provides a variety of lab services designed to meet the needs of inpatients, outpatients and the medical personnel who order lab work. Services at RSMH include: Blood Bank (transfusion services), blood drawing (phlebotomy), chemistry, hematology/coagulation, immunology, microbiology, pathology and urinalysis.
Outpatient laboratory services are performed onsite Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to noon. Patients needing services on weekends and after hours should check in at the Emergency Department.
Mammography for women and men is offered at both Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox and at Riverside Shore Medical Center at Metompkin, north of Parksley. Both sites use digital equipment so that the image is available immediately to any Riverside doctor. Both sites are accredited by the American College of Radiology, and both sites are staffed with highly-trained, experienced and certified mammographers. This free service provides you and your loved ones with the information you need to make informed decisions. Our Senior Care Navigators provide information, referrals and support services designed to meet your specific needs including medical care, living arrangements, physical and mental wellness and a variety of practical services such as meals, transportation and homecare assistance.
This innovative day program offers professional counseling and therapeutic activities based on an individualized plan. Available as infrequently as one day a week or as often as five days a week, Senior Perspectives is designed to help older adults cope with the challenges that can accompany aging, such as feelings of isolation, depression and loneliness. We are committed to helping you or your loved one gain a healthier, happier outlook so you can begin feeling better.
Shore Rehab Center
A range of rehabilitation programs, with an emphasis on swallowing, speech and communication disorders in patients of all ages, provides Eastern Shore residents with an attractive environment and the potential to reach your highest level of independence following an injury or illness.
Speech therapy treats a broad spectrum of communication disorders including those caused by breathing issues, autism, hearing impairment, developmental delays, weak muscles around the mouth, stroke, Parkinson's Disease, Dementia, and more. Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital provides accurate and affordable vascular screenings for stroke risk, abdominal aortic aneurysms and circulation. These screenings offer board certification and a degree of quality not obtainable in mobile units.
