Getting started
If you think you or a family member may benefit from rehabilitation services, please contact Riverside Central Discharge at 1-888-594-5600, where our staff can help determine what type of rehabilitation service best suit your needs. Also, we can talk with your insurance company about treatment options and help secure physician referrals. While Riverside has many rehabilitation services and facilities, not all services are right for each patient. Your doctor may recommend that you use several services throughout your rehabilitation.
Outpatient services for physical, occupational and speech therapy
Outpatient therapy is provided by Riverside specialists at our Riverside Physical Therapy centers conveniently located throughout the Virginia Peninsula, Williamsburg, Middle Peninsula, Northern Neck and the Eastern Shore. Physical therapy is offered at all locations; some locations also offer occupational and speech therapy.
Riverside rehabilitation centers (subacute rehabilitation/skilled nursing)
Short-term inpatient rehabilitation services are provided in Riverside Rehabilitation Centers throughout the area so you can recover from surgery, illness or joint replacement surgery close to home.
Home health care
Services from Riverside Home Health are designed to allow you to recover from surgery or illness at home.
Riverside Wellness & Fitness Centers
Maintain your strength and independence after rehabilitation with medically-based fitness and nutrition programs at our Riverside Wellness & Fitness Centers.
R.I.S.E. program: Rehabilitative Introduction to Supervised Exercise is a program that helps individuals improve their strength, endurance, flexibility, balance and overall quality of life. R.I.S.E. features social support and education on how to: improve cardiovascular fitness; decrease risk of complication from chronic illness; and build a healthier lifestyle.
Riverside Rehabilitation Hospital (acute rehabilitation)
Located in a new facility in York County, Riverside Rehabilitation Hospital provides the Peninsula and surrounding communities with a complete range of inpatient rehabilitation services. It is the largest dedicated rehabilitation hospital in Virginia.
