April is National Stress Awareness
Welcome to your April My Healthy Lifestyle newsletter, the online voice of My Healthy Lifestyle. In what shouldn't be too much of a surprise for the month in which our income taxes are due, April has been designated Stress Awareness Month. It's a time when health professionals and health education sources across the country come together to increase awareness about what some consider as potentially most harmful "epidemic" of our modern times.
That's why this issue includes a look at the important link between exercise and stress management as well as the connection between diet, anxiety and depression. You'll get a tip from a Riverside employee on a very simple strategy for reducing stress as well as the inside story on how another team member uses yoga classes – available at no charge to the Riverside community – to cope with sore muscles and stressful situations. All this, plus an explanation of the Medical Fitness Difference.
Our hope as you receive your My Healthy Lifestyle newsletter each month is that you will not only read it but respond to it. To submit comments and ideas for future issues, please contact Daniel Ballin at firstname.lastname@example.org. And you can also follow Daniel on Twitter @danob71 for more health-related information.
